Dear College of Liberal Arts Students,

Welcome to CLA. We are so happy you are here!

For new students, your decision to pursue your education will change your life and determine your future path. Congratulations on taking this important step.

For those of you returning to us, welcome back and thank you for placing your trust in us.

CLA is home to a wide variety of departments and degree programs from the arts and humanities, to languages and social sciences. Whether you are in a classroom or online, in an art studio or a research lab, on a theatre stage or at a student club event, CLA’s excellent faculty, advisors, staff, and fellow students will support you.

I encourage you to get involved and take advantage of all our college has to offer.  You can see live music every Thursday at 1pm in the Davis Concert Hall through our Music at One series. You can attend lectures almost every night of the week during the semester, on topics ranging from local politics, to journalism, to food security in Alaska. Our Anthropology Colloquium Series would be a great place to start! You can even swipe your Polar Express card to see a Theatre UAF production for free. So please reach out, show up, and find your people and your passion!
