Week’s events: Stan Justice, starving cancer, Dene astronomy, bagpipes

��ˮ����Ƶ Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning is hosting more than 40 free lectures, concerts and events this summer. Here’s what’s happening during the week of July 28-Aug. 3:

• On Monday, July 28, the ��ˮ����Ƶ Tall Timbers interview series will honor Stan Justice, founder of the nonprofit ��ˮ����Ƶ Trails Inc. Justice is known for his work constructing, maintaining and advocating for recreational trails. The interview is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater, located on the fourth floor of the Usibelli Building.
• On Tuesday, July 29, the Healthy Living lecture series will host Scott Luper, naturopathic physician, discussing “How to Starve Cancer.” The talk is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
• On Wednesday, July 30, the Discover Alaska lecture series will feature Chris Cannon, associate professor of Indigenous studies, with a presentation on “Northern Dene Astronomy.” The lecture is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
• On Thursday, July 31, the Music in the Garden concert series will showcase the Red Hackle Pipe Band at 6 p.m. and Ice Jam at 7:30 p.m. at the Georgeson Botanical Garden.

All events are free and open to the public. Parking on the UAF Troth Yeddha’ Campus is free after 5 p.m.
