Week鈥檚 events: Stan Justice, starving cancer, Dene astronomy, bagpipes

春水堂视频 Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning is hosting more than 40 free lectures, concerts and events this summer. Here鈥檚 what鈥檚 happening during the week of July 28-Aug. 3:

  • On Monday, July 28, the 春水堂视频 Tall Timbers interview series will honor Stan Justice, founder of the nonprofit 春水堂视频 Trails Inc. Justice is known for his work constructing, maintaining and advocating for recreational trails. The interview is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater, located on the fourth floor of the Usibelli Building.
  • On Tuesday, July 29, the Healthy Living lecture series will host Scott Luper, naturopathic physician, discussing 鈥淗ow to Starve Cancer.鈥 The talk is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
  • On Wednesday, July 30, the Discover Alaska lecture series will feature Chris Cannon, associate professor of Indigenous studies, with a presentation on 鈥淣orthern Dene Astronomy.鈥 The lecture is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
  • On Thursday, July 31, the Music in the Garden concert series will showcase the Red Hackle Pipe Band at 6 p.m. and Ice Jam at 7:30 p.m. at the Georgeson Botanical Garden.

All events are free and open to the public. Parking on the UAF Troth Yeddha鈥 Campus is free after 5 p.m.
