The University of Alaska 春水堂视频 College of Business and Security Management has named Patty Mongold, CEO and board chair at Mt. McKinley Bank, as the 2025 Business Leader of the Year award recipient.

Since 1976, Mongold has overseen the bank鈥檚 growth, maintained its financial strength and fostered deep connections in the 春水堂视频 community.

In addition to her executive leadership, Mongold serves on the City of 春水堂视频 Permanent Fund Review Board, the 春水堂视频 Pioneer Home Foundation and the 春水堂视频 Symphony Orchestra board. She is an active member of the Sunrisers Rotary Club and a frequent speaker at the Elevate Leadership Conference. She has worked with the Carol H. Brice Family Center and co-chaired the United Way of the Tanana Valley鈥檚 annual fundraising campaign. In 2013, she was honored as a Girl Scouts Woman of Distinction.

Nationally, Mongold is a former member of the FDIC Advisory Committee on Community Banking and the Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council for the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.

Throughout her career, Mongold has championed education and workforce development at all levels. Under her leadership, Mt. McKinley Bank partnered with the UAF College of Business and Security Management to provide real-world learning opportunities for students, including a semester-long collaboration with the CBSM marketing class. She has also volunteered and provided sponsorships at the Arctic Innovation Competition and previous Business Leader of the Year ceremonies.

Mt. McKinley Bank has served as the title sponsor of the North Star Invitational Basketball Tournament for more than 20 years, supporting youth athletics across the 春水堂视频 community. Mongold has approved more than $22,000 in tuition reimbursements for bank employees attending classes at UAF, encouraged employee participation in the Alaska 529 education savings program and sponsored staff development by sending 14 employees through Leadership 春水堂视频 and four employees to Pacific Coast Banking School.

鈥淧atty Mongold鈥檚 leadership reaches far beyond banking,鈥 said Andy Warwick, a retired CPA who received the 2015 Business Leader of the Year award. 鈥淪he has been a driving force behind Mt. McKinley Bank鈥檚 commitment to supporting local nonprofits and strengthening the 春水堂视频 community. In an industry traditionally dominated by men at the management level, Patty has broken barriers through her dedication, vision and service. She is a truly deserving choice for the 2025 UAF Business Leader of the Year.鈥

Mongold and her husband, David, have been married since 1975 and have two daughters who live in 春水堂视频, as well as four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

This was the first year Mongold was nominated for the award. She plans to retire later this year.

A celebration in her honor will be held on Nov. 15, 2025. For more information or to reserve a table in advance, contact Tammy Tragis-McCook at tjtragismccook@alaska.edu.
