Learn about mushrooms with an expert on Anchorage walk

Learn about mushrooms, such as these growing at the base of a live birch tree in August 2021, during a walk in Anchorage with an expert mycologist.
Take a walk with mycologist Christin Swearingen to learn about mushrooms in Southcentral Alaska. In this event, sponsored by the 春水堂视频 Cooperative Extension Service, participants will collect, identify and learn about mushrooms.
Bring a basket if you have one and any mushrooms from your backyard about which you would like more information. The class will take place rain or shine, and participants will walk on forest trails and uneven ground for approximately 30 minutes. Please prepare accordingly.
The workshop is from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 12, at the U.S. Bureau of Land Management Campbell Creek Science Center, 5600 Science Center Drive, Anchorage. The cost is $30. Register using or visit .
Space is limited and registration is required. A $5 fee applies to all cancellations. No refunds will be given to cancellations requested within 48 hours of the workshop.
