Consul General of India visits ACEP

Two representatives of the visited UAF in July. Consul General Prakash Gupta and Consul Advisor Debadutta Dash toured ACEP鈥檚 Energy Technology Facility, which houses laboratories, equipment and infrastructure to support ACEP鈥檚 research, with Laura Conner, UAF vice chancellor of research along with a photojournalist from the Consulate.
They learned from the ETF staff about remote, islanded microgrids, common energy systems in the Arctic and the specific ways the ETF lab helps test energy technologies and integrations before they go out to Alaska communities.
As an observer in the Arctic Council, India has its own icebreaker. The attendees discussed the similarities between ships and remote microgrids as it relates to Arctic security, energy and testing.
